Found your blog through a web search while looking for a term I learned just last night, flumgudgeon. Apparently the first paper in Portland, OR, was called The Flumgudgeon Review and Bumblebee Budget (3 or so years before the Oregonian emerged). Just thought you'd be interested in this little tidbit factoid.

Nickodemus:

I can't remember if I ever told you about the ten-second story game, but you were the star of one Becca and I constructed without planning to the other day. It went something like this:

Becca: Nick wants to move to Alaska.
Mindy: Why?
Becca: Because it's hot in Ohio.

You're missed around here.

Just one boyfriend? I have to admit, I'm a little disappointed.

I've been walking a lot, and severely miss running into walls with you while playing squash and racquetball. What ever happened to that video?

Mike, I was in s totally cranky godawful mood when I started reading this, and a hell of a lot better one by the time I finished. Glad you're doing well. Try not to melt in all that heat down there.

Sarah Vowell is easily my favorite author. Any book by her or Sedaris is honestly a great summer read.
